Erik Lamela is a shock target for Serie A side Bologna this summer, according to the Evening Standard.
The-29-year-old attacker has enjoyed a recent resurgence under Jose Mourinho, despite his red card in the north London derby earlier this month.
Lamela had featured in 16 games on the bounce before suspension saw him miss Spurs’ win at Aston Villa on Sunday – scoring twice and providing one assist during that period.
But the Argentine, who joined Tottenham in 2013, has entered the final 18 months of his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and therefore could be moved on this summer.
The report believes that Bologna have confirmed their interest in the former Roma man and would see him as a replacement for Riccardo Orsolini, should they lose him to AC Milan.
“Lamela is one of the names we are looking into,” said Bologna sporting director Walter Sabatini. “We are trying to understand if there are possibilities to get there and there is no guarantee.
“Of course, should Orsolini leave, there would be no better substitute. We will see.”
Bologna are currently sitting 11th in the Serie A table despite winning their last two games.
