Tottenham have confirmed that Oliver Skipp has undergone successful foot surgery following an injury sustained with Norwich on Saturday.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who’d featured in all 45 of the Canaries Championship matches this season, limped off in the latter stages of their draw with Reading.

It means that Skipp will miss their final game at Barnsley on Saturday, and isn’t expected to return to training until pre-season.

Norwich’s 4-1 win over the Royals saw them clinch the Championship title, although the young midfielder joined in the celebrations on crutches and wearing a protective boot.

Skipp has enjoyed an exceptional loan spell at Carrow Road, quickly making himself a fans favourite with the Norwich faithful, with his tremendous form playing a major part in them making an instant return to the Premier League.

But the England Under-21 midfielder will now return to Tottenham in a bid to make himself a regular in the first-team.
