Massimiliano Allegri would consider an approach from Tottenham to become their next manager, according to the Evening Standard.

The Italian has been a free agent since resigning from his post at Juventus having led the Serie A giants to five consecutive league titles and two Champions League finals.

Spurs are still searching hard for a replacement for Jose Mourinho, who was relieved of his duties in north London last month following their poor run of form which is likely to see them miss out on qualifying for the Champions League for the second consecutive season.

Daniel Levy has already missed out on his top three targets in Julian Nagelsmann, Brendan Rodgers and Erik ten Hag, who decided to commit his long-term future to Ajax by signing a new deal.

But the Standard believe that Allegri and Rafa Benitez, two managers that are both out of work, would consider the vacant job in north London.
