Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Erik ten Hag won’t be the next Spurs manager.

In the wake of Jose Mourinho’s sacking back in April, the Ajax manager looked favourite to replace him.

However, the Dutchman quickly ended Tottenham’s pursuit of him by signing a contract extension with the Amsterdam giants, keeping him there until 2023.

But with Spurs having missed out on all of their top targets and now desperately trying to replace Mourinho, he wasn’t completely out of the running.

Ten Hag made his name by winning has won five domestic trophies during his three-and-a-half seasons at Ajax, including two Dutch titles, and reached the Champions League semi-finals two seasons ago before he was knocked out by Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham.

However, speaking to Spurs fan Chris Cowlin on his YouTube Channel, Romano said that regardless of happens with Antonio Conte or Pochettino, Ten Hag won’t be the next manager of Spurs.

He said: “His profile would be perfect, but he has a strong relationship with the director of Ajax Marc Overmars.”
