Tottenham are in talks with Antonio Conte, according to The Athletic.
Former manager Mauricio Pochettino, who’s been keen on returning to north London, appeared the favourite to replace Jose Mourinho, but strong reports out of Italy earlier this afternoon believe that Conte could finally end Spurs’ long wait for a new manager.
Less than three weeks after leading Inter Milan to the Serie A title, Conte left his role at the San Siro following disagreements with the owners over, but is now set to make an instant return to management.
Conte has enjoyed success almost everywhere he has gone, winning numerous titles with Juventus before leading Chelsea to an impressive fourth Premier League crown and Inter to their first Serie A title for 11 years.
And The Athletic believe that the ex-Chelsea manager, who also won the FA Cup during his spell at Stamford Bridge, is in advanced talks with Tottenham, and according to Fabrizio Romano is discussing a number of things, including transfers, and the possibly of bringing in former Juventus Sporting Director Fabio Paratici.
