Tottenham are set to announce the appointments of Fabio Paratici and Paulo Fonseca in the coming days, according to The Athletic.
Spurs have been looking for a new permanent manager since sacking Jose Mourinho in April.
Ryan Mason took charge as interim head coach until the end of the season, but it looks like the Londoners are about confirm Mourinho’s long-term replacement.
The Athletic claims Fonseca, who managed Roma last term but has now been replaced by Mourinho, is likely to be confirmed as Tottenham’s new manager early next week.
The Portuguese former centre-back will apparently sign a two-year contract with the option of a further year.
Meanwhile, Paratici – the Italian expected to be named director of football at Spurs – could be officially appointed over the weekend.
With all of that in mind, it seems Tottenham’s new era is set to begin over the next few days, ending the long-running speculation about who will enter the dugout.
Hopefully the club can now begin to identify transfer targets and shift some of the deadwood in the squad.
I could not be more underwhelmed!
