Napoli could intensify their interest in signing Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko this week, according to reports in Italy.
Sissoko, who will turn 32 in August, has two years remaining on the Spurs contract he signed in September 2019.
After a difficult start in north London following an expensive move from Newcastle United, the Frenchman eventually became a regular starter under Mauricio Pochettino.
But his minutes dried up when Jose Mourinho took over and he rarely started matches last season – he didn’t start any games at all under interim head coach Ryan Mason.
With that in mind it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him move on this summer, and it looks like Tottenham may have found a suitor.
Sky Sports in Italy claims Napoli are keen on Sissoko and could make a move for him in the ‘coming days’.
The fact he is contracted until the summer of 2023 means Spurs will probably be able to command a sizeable fee.
That said, it will be difficult to collect anything close to the reported £30 million (via BBC Sport) the Londoners paid for him in August 2016.
