Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has doubts over appointing Nuno Espirito Santo as the club’s new manager, according to Football London.
As we relayed on Friday (via the Telegraph), Nuno is understood to be the frontrunner to become Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor following a drawn out managerial recruitment process.
However, it is believed Levy may be getting cold feet for two reasons.
Football London claims Levy is concerned about Nuno’s style of football being too similar to that of Mourinho, something the majority of fans were not fond of.
And secondly, Levy thinks he will receive a bad reception from the supporters on the opening day of the new Premier League campaign against Manchester City if he makes an unpopular appointment.
Our opinion? That’s all well and good, but Spurs are running out of options and could do with having a new manager in place for the start of pre-season.
Obviously it’s crucial to appoint the right man for the job, but realistically, how many more candidates can Tottenham go through? Time will tell.
Thank god. Potter or Gerrard please!
Twenty years plus of enic investing in the parts of spurs that will get them back the best money for the 28 million they loaned to buy the club. By building the stadium for double the original price levy proved what a great business man he is. Until covid it pulled in record amounts again meaning no investment by enic required just let the poor people the fans, tv money and sponsorship pay for everything. However it has all went to a ball of chalk and we yet again are seeing in the manager search just how terrible enic are. When a true owner would realise they need to spend to prosper enic deicide we need to be prudent. Leicester have got it right and they will continue to grow we however on hms titanic will head straight for the nearest ice berg. Levy is so focused on not spending any of his or Joe’s money he tells us there are difficult times ahead. Well Danny boy you and enic created this monster of a mess we are in so you need to sort it. #spendyourmoney. Any fan with any sense will boycott the stadium otherwise you are just funding more money into enic bank accounts. This was proved this week with the report stating only man utd owners invest less and take more than enic. Imagine what enic success story next to bottom of that league but top of the league when it comes to debt and ticket prices. #boycottthetottenhamhotspurstadium.
Quality managers have demanded money to spend. Levy wants cheap options so we will get a manager who will be happy with the eventual pay off; having a DoF is pointless if Levy has the final say. My money is on Sam Allardyce ,he is totally money orientated as is Levy. Relegation battle looming
If Levy has doubts about Nuno it proves he’s the wrong man for the job. Get some money out of Lewis and give it to a top manager for a change. 20 years of doing it Levys way has brought us nothing. Time for a change or get out.
, Levy thinks he will receive a bad reception from the supporters ha ha ha its a given mate he is the most hated pri#k around
Better for Levy to go now and get someone in place of him
Levy is too tight with money which affect Spurs totally
Chris Hughton!
