Following the appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo, Spurs are interested in centre-back Conor Coady, according to Football Insider.

The England defender was one of Santo’s biggest success stories during his four years at Molineux, and has missed just one league game since Wolves’ promotion back in 2018.

Coady hasn’t yet featured at the Euro’s despite being named in Gareth Southgate’s squad, but has been an extremely reliable figure at the heart of the Wolves defence and was a key part of their successive seventh-place finishes under Santo.

Santo’s team struggled defensively last season, which is why Football Insider believe that he’s already desperately trying to reunite with Coady, although Tottenham face competition from Everton for his signature.

With at least one of Eric Dier or Davinson Sanchez expected to be moved on this summer, we think that whilst Coady isn’t the glamorous name that some might be expecting, given his relationship with Santo, it would be a smart piece of business.
