Nuno Espirito Santo wants Tottenham to sign Switzerland striker Haris Seferovic, according to the Mirror.

Seferovic, who scored three goals for his country at Euro 2020 before exiting at the quarter-final stage, has three years remaining on his Benfica contract.

And the Mirror claims Nuno wants to make the striker his first signing since being appointed Spurs manager last week.

The report says Seferovic has a £50 million buyout clause in his contract but could be available for just £20-25 million this summer.

Nuno apparently ‘wants to snap up’ the 29-year-old, who could provide back-up for Harry Kane – providing the England captain sticks around beyond the current transfer window.

Carlos Vinicius has returned to Benfica following his season-long loan, and it’s probably unlikely Tottenham will try to get the Brazilian for another year.

Seferovic would be a more sensible signing, though Spurs may have doubts about spending upwards of £20 million on a deputy for Kane.

Time will tell whether Kane is definitely staying put, but if he isn’t Tottenham may have to aim higher than Seferovic when it comes to signing a striker this summer.
