Tottenham have named their starting line-up for today’s Premier League curtain raiser against Manchester City.

It is Nuno Espirito Santo’s first starting line-up in a competitive game for Spurs, so there has been plenty of anticipation and speculation about who will start.

Most of the talk this week has been about Harry Kane’s availability as the striker continues to be linked with a move to the champions.

And now we know: Kane has been left out of the squad, with Tottenham saying he is not fit enough to be involved, according to The Athletic.

As a result, the front line is exactly what we thought it would be. Dele Alli, Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min all start.

In midfield, Oliver Skipp joins Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in what could be a regular partnership this season.

Japhet Tanganga starts at right-back, with Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Sergio Reguilon making up the rest of the back four. Hugo Lloris is in goal.

Here’s the XI in full. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

  1. How Spurs can start the season without a recognised out and out striker is a complete joke and a disgrace, Levy should be ashamed of himself for letting it get to this, this should have been sorted weeks ago. We don’t even have a left footed centre back. Levy, ENIC and Lewis OUT !!! Get these parasites out of our club. They are a complete embarrassment and should go.

  2. Spot on.Tight fisted enic & levy have, in the last few seasons, for a few million pounds more, have lost us,100% nailed on signings like, bruno fernandes, jack grealish, maddison, watkins,i could go on but we are finished as a top fpur team while they are in charge of the finances.

  3. Anyone willing to put money on anything but a loss for us today? The one good thing is, at least the transfer window being open will show the board exactly how many more players will be needed before it closes.

  4. Dier in, Sanchez in, Dele in, Bergwijn in. They should be OUT. First game of the season starts with a home loss
