Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that he will decide on Saturday whether Harry Kane will be included in the squad to face Wolves the following day.
Having missed training before eventually returning to Hotspur Way less than seven days before Tottenham hosted Manchester City in their Premier League opener, Kane has been building his fitness in recent days alone, although he did join his teammates on Tuesday.
But Kane hasn’t flown to Portugal for the UEFA Conference League play-off against Pacos de Ferreira tomorrow evening, and will remain in London with the majority of the players that started the game against City.
Kane hasn’t featured for Tottenham since the final-day victory at Leicester more than three months ago, having been overlooked on Sunday despite Santo previously stating that his entire squad is available.
Ahead of the game in Portugal, Santo was asked whether Kane will be involved when he makes his return to Molineux this weekend.
He told Football.London: “U cannot answer that. What I can tell you is he’s better. He’s getting his fitness better and better each day. He worked today, he’s going to work tomorrow and he’s going to join the group on Friday.
“And on Saturday we’re going to make a decision on who’s going to be involved in the next game.”
