Tottenham are keen on signing Houssem Aouar from Lyon, according to Sky Sports.
Earlier in the transfer window, ESPN reported that Nuno Espirito Santo’s man had proposed a swap deal with the French giants, with Tanguy Ndombele going the other way.
However, whilst Ndombele still wants to leave the club, Sky Sports believe that Tottenham are setting their sights solely on the 23-year-old and have opened informal talks with Aouar’s representatives.
But the report believes that Aouar wants to play in the Champions League, something neither Spurs, who’re in the UEFA Conference League or Lyon, in the Europa League, can offer.
And whilst the North Londoners have contacted his representatives, the reports says that he wants to consider all of his options before making a decision over his future, with just two years remaining on his Lyon contract.
Aouar, a product of Lyon’s academy, has an impressive record in Ligue 1 since breaking into the first-team – scoring 23 goals and adding 20 assists in just 130 appearances – and would certainly add firepower to a Tottenham frontline that’s currently lacking a creative player.
Get him in,
Get NDOMBELE out,
Ballers in, parasites out
