Barcelona have turned down an approach from Tottenham for defender Emerson Royal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
It is believed Spurs offered Serge Aurier to Barcelona in a swap deal for Emerson, but the La Liga giants have rejected the approach.

Tottenham’s right-back situation remains unclear, with Japhet Tanganga – usually a centre-back – appearing to be Nuno Espirito’s preferred option in the role.
Indeed, Tanganga is keeping Matt Doherty out of the Premier League starting line-up. Doherty, who excelled under Nuno at Wolves, has struggled since arriving at Spurs.
And so it looks like the Londoners are still attempting to buy a new right-back before the transfer window closes on Tuesday evening.
If Romano is to be believed, Emerson has emerged as Tottenham’s number one target and the club is clearly trying to get a deal done.
Aurier has not played a single minute of football yet this season and is unlikely to feature against Watford on Sunday with an exit seemingly on the cards.
With Barcelona not keen to sign Aurier, it remains to be seen whether Spurs will still try to sign Emerson – time will tell.
