Tottenham will attempt to sign AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie on a free transfer next summer, according to reports in Italy.

Kessie is out of contract next summer and will be allowed to speak to foreign clubs from January onwards.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claims Milan want to keep the 24-year-old Ivory Coast international but the two parties are not close to an agreement.

Apparently that could allow the likes of Spurs to swoop in – the Londoners are said to be ready to offer Kessie a contract worth £8 million a year.

There is a good chance Tottenham will try to strengthen in midfield next year, with uncertainty around Tanguy Ndombele’s future probably set to continue.

Per The Athletic, Ndombele was keen to join a host of Europe’s biggest clubs this summer but Spurs could not find the right move for him.

If that happens again this time next year, perhaps the Frenchman will get his move and Tottenham will be in need of a replacement – and Kessie could be a cheap option.

  1. Try and get him in the Jan window because if we keep waiting for the summer to get him free he will go else ware. Why not swap him for Tanguy.

    • Contract does not work like that. If that were the case many clubs would have done those kinds of deals like they do in the USA. The outgoing play value is too high to make that kind of trade without a third party or third component. I still think Nuno should do whatever he can to get him on the pitch. Nuno gets paid to manage not to cast aside the first problem that comes up. Jose never had time for Dele and look how motivated he is right now. There are no credit to be handed to Jose on that, he cast off Ali from the first game of the season.

  2. Get tangy to f€uk lazy bone idle muppet every since he came he’s been poor n I was a massive fan while he was at Lyon but he had no competition for his place in team so no matter what he played n he hinks that should be the case with us but I have news for him need to work hard n fight for a place in our team n any team in prem capoue was the same bad players to have in n around our squad

  3. We won’t recoup any where near the fee for ndombele end at this stage so I think it would make sense to play him to try and boost up his stock, saying that though has he refused to play for us again?.it a shame as I had high hope for him when came and there have been glimpses but he too lazy for this league and seems to be struggling gmentally
