There is a chance Tottenham pair Son Heung-min and Steven Bergwijn will return from injury lay-offs to face Chelsea this weekend, according to the London Evening Standard.
Both players suffered injuries (calf and foot respectively) while playing for their countries, South Korea and the Netherlands, during the recent international break.
As a result Son and Bergwijn missed Saturday’s trip to Crystal Place, and their absence was keenly felt as Spurs fell to a crushing 3-0 defeat at Selhurst Park.
Despite conceding three goals – all of which came after Japhet Tanganga’s second half red card – the attack was the real problem as Nuno Espirito’s men managed just two shots at goal.
But they may have more luck against Chelsea at home on Sunday if Son and Bergwijn are deemed fit enough to return to the squad, if not the starting line-up.
The Standard seems to think there is a chance that will happen, claiming there is ‘growing hope’ the duo will be available.
Eric Dier, on the other hand, was apparently still being assessed as of Monday after picking up a thigh injury at Palace, so he’s probably a major doubt.
