Tottenham travel to West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday, and it’s rare we can predict the starting line-up with such conviction.

For Thursday’s midweek trip to Vitesse in the Europa Conference League, Nuno Espirito Santo left all 10 players who started the previous game – the victory over Newcastle United – at home.

And so it makes sense to gather that Nuno is planning to start the exact XI that won at St James’ Park once again in what could be a difficult London derby.

That means Hugo Lloris will be protected by a back four of Emerson Royal, Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Sergio Reguilon, while Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will start in midfield.

Tanguy Ndombele will provide support for a front three of Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane. The likes of Giovani Lo Celso and Steven Bergwijn could feature from the bench.

Whether Nuno’s decision to leave his first-teamers at home in midweek was the right call will be clearer on Sunday afternoon – if Tottenham get a result, it will be more than justified.

  1. Win or loose it was not the right think. Firsr, he insulted the other club and playing a group of backups who are not playing together or regularly is mind bending.

  2. How is it an insult to start 9 international players, The quality is there the effort was not, I would be paying that same 11 againstWolves if they had performed as its good enough on paper to beat Wolves and Vitesse…but the games are played on the pitch. Only possible change for me is Rodon for Dier
