Tottenham face Everton this weekend in what will be Antonio Conte’s first Premier League fixture since becoming the club’s new manager.
Conte was only able to observe training before Thursday night’s 3-2 victory over Vitesse in the Europa Conference League, but he did pick the team for that game.
It is not guaranteed that we saw the Italian’s preferred starting line-up against Vitesse – he could make numerous changes for the trip to Goodison Park.
That said, we think there is a good chance he will stick with the exact same XI on Sunday.
The team may seem a bit conservative with Oliver Skipp and Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg in central midfield, rather than a more adventurous option like Tanguy Ndombele or Giovani Lo Celso.
But while the players get used to the new system with three at the back – likely to be Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Ben Davies in front of Hugo Lloris again – there is logic behind a more defensive midfield pairing.
And of course, Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane all earned starts with their performances on Thursday, as did the wing-backs, Sergio Reguilon and Emerson Royal.
Here’s our predicted XI to face Everton – what’s yours? Let us know in the comments section below.
Rodon In for Davis only change
Yes yes Rodon in place of terrible Davies the worst defender
I rather Lo Celso in.place of Skipp to allow one midfielder create forward as Skipp could not do the create
This line up like a version of a kids interpretation of all my stickman friends. In a 3 back lineup why would he continue to play 2 grunts
You take your chances with the best of 2 bad creative mids in Tanguy and Gio.
Dier death, Davies no-hoper and iffy Skipp. I would be surprised if this is the case.
Conte had obviously had Mason in his ear giving the low down on his mates before Vitesse game as Conte hadn’t seen the players in match situation. Davies a strange pick over Roden. Hojberg over rated. Time will tell
Take out Davies put in Tanganga .
