Tottenham will prioritise signing an attacking right wing-back in the January transfer window, according to The Athletic.

Antonio Conte will be given his first opportunity to bring in new players when the winter transfer window rolls around next month.

And it looks like there is a specific position in which the Italian wants to strengthen.

In a Q&A article, The Athletic journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke claims bringing in an attacking right wing-back will he a priority for Spurs in January.

It is believed Conte wants a player who is more effective in the final third that Emerson Royal, who has been a bit wasteful with his final ball since arriving in the summer.

Pitt-Brooke goes on to say that Matt Doherty will be allowed to leave if Tottenham can find him a club, so that increases the need for a new right wing-back.

At one point it seemed centre-back would be the absolute priority in January, but Eric Dier, Ben Davies and even Davinson Sanchez have all impressed since Conte took charge.

Still, Spurs could do with another defender, with Cristian Romero still nursing a hamstring injury.
