Tottenham are considering launching a second attempt to try and sign Adama Traore this month, according to the Athletic.

Spurs were linked with the Spaniard last summer when Nuno Espirito Santo was manager, although they saw a £5m loan bid rejected by Wolves at the end of August.

Traore has struggled to find his best form this season, failing to contribute to a single goal or assist in 18 Premier League appearances under Bruno Lage.

But the Athletic believe that Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are weighing up an approach for Traore, who they think could become their new right wing-back, with the Italian hoping to work wonders like he did with Victor Moses in 2016-2017.

Traore does have experience of playing as a right wing-back, spending 14 games there under Nuno in 2019-2020, one of which a 2-0 win at Manchester City when he scored both goals. He also chipped in with three assists.

He has spent the majority of his Wolves career playing in a more advanced wide right role, but the report believes that the 25-year-old could be “trained” by Conte to play there.

  1. If Spurs sign 10% of the players they are linked to, they will field a whole new starting 11!
Most of the speculation is absolute fabricated rubbish. And as Conte keeps on “having to discuss transfers this month with the powers that be” and still not having done so,knowing the “Poisonous Dwarf” he will get down to it late and will not have the time with his famous quote “ we did try but couldn’t get it over the line”.
It will be Ciao Conte and Finito Tottenham.

  2. Do you honestly believe that Senor Conte has NOT discussed the squad, his wishlist or anything with the THFC board/transfer committee??
Very strange that same media outlets that run that ‘news’ ALSO run other ‘stories’ that THFC are interested in, have enquired about, are talking to, etc all the said untold players!?
As you said, mostly fabricated rubbish but AC’s ‘kidology’ was surely only designed to stop the press dead in their tracks from asking about players he’s interested in (buying or selling), etc??

  3. Bottomline…we have not signed a single good player since Sen and Son (PEH and Moura are mixed). We hv spent big money, foolishly as it turns out, on Sanchez, Sissoko, Stevie, Gio, Ndombele, while jury remains out on Reggie and Romero. Youngsters like Clarke, Sess, Rodon, the hyped Gill, have had no impact.
If Levy was CEO of a company and winning was the equivalent of profits, and fans were not a captive market, he wdv been fired ling back.
