Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is hopeful of leaving the club in January, according to The Athletic.

The Frenchman has failed to live up to the record fee that Spurs paid Lyon for him in 2019, while he’s fallen out of favour since Antonio Conte arrived.

Ndombele has made just three starts under the Italian, the third of those coming in the FA Cup tie with Morecambe on Sunday. And with Tottenham trailing to the League One outfit, he slowly walked off the pitch, which led to loud boos from sections of the home faithful.

Conte failed to comment on the topic when quizzed about the 3-1 victory, but The Athletic believe that the 24-year-old is hoping to end his nightmare two-and-a-half year stay with the club.

The report says that sources close to the Frenchman believe that moving on this month would be the best outcome for everyone involved, with Ndombele, who’s started just six Premier League games all season, keen on getting a deal done before the window closes.
