Napoli are interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele this month, according to reports in Italy.

Ndombele was jeered by sections of the home crowd when he walked off the pitch slowly after being substituted when Spurs were trailing against Morecambe in the FA Cup last weekend.

The Frenchman was then left out of the squad by Antonio Conte for Wednesday’s EFL Cup second leg defeat to Chelsea, leading to further speculation about his future.

And now, Italian outlet Calcio Mercato is reporting that Napoli are ‘working hard’ to sign Ndombele this month, though it’s unclear whether they want him permanently or just on loan.

The report claims Ndombele is ready to ‘say goodbye’ to Tottenham, who he joined for a record fee in the summer of 2019 – he has failed to live up to his price and looks destined to leave soon.

While Spurs won’t miss the 25-year-old too much (because he barely plays anyway), he remains one of the most creative midfielders in the squad, so the Londoners will need a replacement.

  1. He fails 3 managers so it is time for him to go BUT who will Spurs get new player in place of him as Spurs really badly need attacking midfielder
It is not good health that Spurs plays 2 central defending players Hojijbeg and Winks which cause attacking problem

  2. Am not a fan of Daniel Levy or Enic, quite the opposite, but having seen how N’Dombele,Lo Celso, Sanchez and Doherty just to name a few have turned out, can you blame them for not wanting to spend big on new players?
Any Spurs Fan who wasn’t happy or had high hopes with their arrivals is a liar.
The problem is any player we bring in fails, so why bother?
If Mbappe were to sign for us, we would quickly turn him into a Hackney Marshes on a Sunday player.

    • You are so right. Backing the manager has been the cry. Many posters do not put their names to potential prefer coming, but they are the loudest always looking to run someone put of town. Tanguy has failed, but some of the guys here are being disingenuous as they were going apes and bananas to get him in the door. I wanted him as he remmind me so much of Dembele. I never wanted Locelso because I thought his goal to assist ratio was too high. He did not have much competition in the final third in Spain so he was racking up the goals. Same with Bruno Fernandes. It look the league 2 years to find him out, but the secret his out, lean on him early and often and he becomes skittish whine and complain. ManU cast aside Pogba for him. How is it working out?
