Tottenham are ‘very unhappy’, according to Football London, after the Premier League confirmed Sunday’s match against Arsenal has been called off.
The north London derby was officially postponed on Saturday afternoon. The Premier League’s statement cited a combination of Covid-19 cases and injuries in the Arsenal camp.
With the problem being mostly injuries, Spurs are understandably displeased with the Premier League’s decision.
That’s according to a report from Football London, which claims Tottenham are ‘very unhappy’ having managed to fulfil previous fixtures with Covid cases of their own.
Antonio Conte’s men would have been big favourites for the derby with the Gunners squad completely depleted, so a home win would have been expected.
Instead, Arsenal now have the chance to recover their missing players before the game is re-scheduled.
Tottenham of course have absences of their own with Eric Dier and Son Heung-Min sidelined through injury, as well as Cristian Romero.
It’s a positive that those players will be back to face Arsenal when the derby takes place, but it certainly would have been nice to play them without some of their stars.
This is outragious. One Arsenal player out through covid. Spurs should go to court over this.
I agree, spurs should claim the three points,…we got thrown out of Europe for having nine LEGIT
Covid cases,Arsenal had one ,injuries ,and suspensions should not count, they have the academy players , and under 23squad to draw on. this situation must’ve dealt with legally ,and fairly.
Up to Spurs to show cheats never prosper and paste them when the game is eventually played.
By then the transfer window will have closed and they will not have bought a single player; Lo Celso and Sessegnon will be out having injured themselves shaving and combing their hair respectively and we will have sold several good young prospects.
I won’t hold my breath.
I believe Davie Dein is the ambassador for the Premier League. Not so strange then that Tottenham get no support from them!
