Tottenham are interested in signing Marseille star Boubacar Kamara but look set to miss out to Atletico Madrid, according to Goal.
Kamara has been one of the standout performers in the French top-flight this season and the midfielder’s current deal expires in the summer.
Goal claims his contract situation has alerted the likes of Spurs, Manchester United, Southampton and Bayern Munich.
However, Atletico Madrid are now said to have entered pole position in the race to sign Kamara in a few months time.
Tottenham’s director of football Fabio Paratici earned a reputation for securing free transfers during his time at Juventus.
And there are a number of players running down their deals who may interest Spurs this summer, including Kamara, Paulo Dybala, Gareth Bale and Christian Eriksen.
With Kamara seemingly set for Atletico and those other names potentially asking for big wages, Tottenham may miss out on all of them.
On the other hand, if Antonio Conte can persuade Paratici and Daniel Levy to be ambitious this summer, perhaps we will see a number of exciting free transfers go through.
