It’s fair to say Tottenham played a major part in an international thriller on Saturday night.

The Netherlands beat Denmark 4-2 in a friendly at the Amsterdam Arena, and Steven Bergwijn was on hand to score twice for the hosts.

The moment of the game, however, came from Christian Eriksen, who scored within two minutes of his return to the Danish national team.

Of course, it was Bergwijn’s second brace of the season scored against Kasper Schmeichel, who was in goal for Leicester City when the Spurs winger bagged that incredible late brace at the King Power Stadium.

It’s also fitting that all of this happened in the stadium where Eriksen played for so many years with Ajax, and where Tottenham enjoyed their most famous European night.

Watch Bergwijn and Eriksen’s goals below.

  1. 2 of the big mysteries at Spurs are why Bergwijn and Roden are not given more game time. Not just with Conte but also previous managers.
    Just does not make sense.

  2. Agreed…the treatment of Rodon in particular is a disgrace (better than Sanchez and easily on a par with Dier).
Son has banked a lot of credit over the years performance wise but us Spurs fans all know there are games where he is well off it and would benefit from a break..enter Bergwijn who I fear will be “off” if he doesn’t get more minutes.
