It may have been a gloomy few weeks at White Hart Lane with just two league points out of a possible 15 but Spurs are still handily placed as they enter the crucial part of the season. Rafael van der Vaart could be a man to play a key role in the run in and the Dutchman himself is positive about the games to come.

‘We want to end in the top four and win the FA Cup – it would be great,’ said Van der Vaart, in the Daily Mail.

‘It would be a dream, especially at Wembley. For me, it’s going to be the first time. So, let’s win Tuesday and then get Chelsea.’

Further comments raised the spectre of a new Chas and Dave single as Rafa went on to stress just how he feels about the FA Cup.

‘The FA Cup is massive, especially the cup final,’ he said.

‘It’s massive in Holland as well. It’s still a long way to go but it’s just two games and you’re in the final.’

It’s been a flat period to say the least but we’d have probably all taken fourth place and a home game between us and the FA Cup final – particularly after our opening two games of the season. However, nothing less than two home wins in the next six days are needed to restore a bit of belief for some of us.

  1. Atleast we still playing for FA. It’s massive and if we win that one, we can hang it on Arsenal for all the cups they have won in the last 7 years. You can have 3rd. We will take 4th and the FA cup, and I would take that as a more successful season every season.
