It’s the day of the World Cup final and far more importantly, the WAG World Cup final between England and Spain.

Peter Crouch’s missus Abbey Clancy represents England, while Sara Carbonero defeated Germany with 52% to 48%, to see the Spanish through to the final.

The Spanish might have won in last night’s ‘real’ World Cup semi–final, but the Germans have a chance to wreak some revenge in the WAG World Cup.

The winner of this game will play England, who triumphed with 59% over Holland, who gained 41%. Let a classic blond v brunette battle commence:

If Fabio Capello and the England squad hadn’t completely ballsed things up, we would anticipating a semi-final against Holland tonight. We’d lose obviously, but at least everyone could have kidded themselves that it had been a reasonably successful World Cup.

In the WAG World Cup however, England go into the semi-final against Holland with a chance of victory. Before we get down to the voting, here are the results of the quarter-finals.

The results of Group E are in and as ever in the WAG World Cup, there’s controversy. Here’s the final league table:

Holland – 51%
Japan – 28%
Denmark – 12%
Cameroon – 8%

The controversy lies in the fact that because the Japanese squad haven’t been able to pull a single woman between them, they had to be represented by some fat sumo wrestler. Rather predictably, you lot voted this big lump over the representatives of Denmark and Cameroon. As we don’t particularly want any blokes wearing nappies in the last 16, Denmark go through with Holland.

There was however, no problem in rounding up four WAGS in Group F, which looks very much like a ‘group of death’. Here are the contenders:

1. Italy – Alena Seredova

Gianluigi Buffon may be out of the World Cup, but his missus Alena Seredova is very much still in the running for the WAG World Cup.

2. Paraguay – Giselle Tavarelli

Giselle is the wife of the Manchester City striker Rogue Santa Cruz.

3. New Zealand – Samantha Powell

A former Miss New Zealand, Samantha Powell is stepping out with the All Whites’ Tony Lochhead.

4. Slovakia – Barbora Lovasova

She might sound like a Bond girl, but Barbora Lovasova is actually the girlfriend of Liverpool’s Martin Skrtel.

The so called ‘real World Cup’ has kicked off, but it’s our WAG World Cup that still has the nation gripped. It’s time to vote in Group E and to look at the results of Group D:

So the Germans top the group and go through to face the USA in the last 16, whilst Serbia take on England.

Now in Group E we have a slight problem. Having done extensive research, I have failed to find a single WAG of the current Japanese squad. Their inability to pull in a country of geishas must be punished and the rules which exist only in my head state that in such a situation, Japan must be represented by an extremely unattractive male.

Considering that the voting so far has tended to be slightly racist in nature weighted towards Europeans, I don’t think that it will make much difference. Here are those contenders:
