Another poor result, another mass condemnation of Robbie Keane (this site included). It got me wondering as to how unpopular the man is at the moment, so I’ve set up a poll which asks you to choose one player that you’d like to see sold during the January window.

Amongst the options are expensive bench-warmers such as Bentley, Hutton and Pavlyuchenko, along with Keane and the ever popular Jermaine Jenas.

It doesn’t look like there’s going to be a lot of activity during this transfer window, so which one player would you like to see us cash in on?

  1. I hate it when Spurs sites ask this type of question. Why the constant desire to slag someone off? Why not just cheer on the players we like?

The obvious players to sell would be pav..hutton..and ohara 3 very ordinary players that are not gonna take us to the land of champs league….and also im afraid keane going wouldnt be bad for either parties…..the constant debate of not playing him would go,and because hes such a strong character,i think Arry finds it hard to leave him out…..i think our marraige with him is definately on the rocks..TIME 4 A QUICK DIVORCE KEANO

  3. Personally I think hutton who hasn’t been great would have done a better job than Corluka at left back on Saturday. Over all corluka is better and I like him but without lennon, we needed a roaming right back and hutton offers more (although defending has a lot to be desired. As we were on the front foot for most of the game, it wouldn’ve been worthwhile. PAv I feel just hasn’t had a chance and i feel sorry for him. He knows where the goal is and just been unlucky so people should get off his back. Keane was terrible and I would never boo a player in the spurs shirt, it is forums liek this where you should be allowed to express your feelings. Sorry shannon, on matchday, support the 11. On web forums on who should go…. i can’t think why you can’t express your feelings! love the guy but just too much huff and puff and no speed and confidence!

    Although I realise having let the boy Naughton out on loan this is highly unlikely, but a defedner who cannopt defend is no good to man or beast.

  8. This place has it in for Keane – this is another veiled poll for Spurs “fans” to tell the blog how much they want ‘Arry to sell him. I hope he stays, gets played and starts knocking them in regularly, just to see how everyone will bandwagon on about how he was always great and anyone who said he should have been sold was mad. Defoe won’t get us 4th, scores goals yes, but only with the ball at his feet in the box, what does he do when he doesn’t have the ball at his feet in the box? Nothing. And Crouch does less.

    • I wouldn’t say I’ve ‘got it in for Keane’. The reason I started the poll is because I saw the one on Tottenham Blog and Vlog, where lots of people were voting for Keane to be sold and wondered if Spurs fans would rather he went than Pavlyuchenko.

      You couldn’t find a bigger supporter of Keane than me, before he left for Liverpool. When they were both in their first spells at Spurs, I would have always picked Keane ahead of Defoe. He was scoring more goals and contributing greatly to our all-round play.

      That just isn’t the case any more. I’d love to see Robbie turn things around, but I can’t see it happening. Let’s hope I’m wrong.

  9. firstly… not saying hutton should be kept, just think when it was clearly going to be an attacking game and with lennon out. would haev probably given a better attacking performance than charlie. bale isn’t exactly a great defender but we all hope his attacking play pays off. on his right foot and couldn’t clear the ball for all the money in the world.

  11. 24% say Keane!!!! What a bunch of cleless mugs! This poll result is a very sad indictment of how stupid so many of our fans are. Mind you, it is football fans we’re talking about, so no surprises I guess.

  12. It might just have been better to have had Keane playing behind the front two and having one less defender. Being as how Hull came to park the bus across the goal we might just have been able to get around or through the big defensive wall they set up. More fire power up front and we possibly could have gone one up fairly early and that could easily have been turned into another 2 or 3 goals to the good.

  15. Out of that list – Bentley, Pav, Hutton, Jenas, then Keane – in that order. E17 – Why O’Hara ahead of Bentley? Get rid of players with NO potential. Bentley – failed at Arsenal and now with us. Never gonna do it here. O’Hara has potential – just needs the games.
