On This Day In Spurs History: 14th May
1981 – On this day in 1981 Spurs beat Manchester City 3-2 in the FA Cup final replay at Wembley. Ricky Villa gave us the lead, only for Steve MacKenzie to equalise within three minutes. City went 2-1 up through a Kevin Reeves penalty, before Garth Crooks pulled it back to 2-2.
Six minutes later, Ricky Villa scored his second and what is generally thought of as the greatest ever goal scored in an FA Cup final. Spurs had won the cup for the first time since 1967.
