On This Day In Spurs History: 14th July

1976 – On this day in 1976, Tottenham appointed Keith Burkinshaw as their new manager. Burkinshaw had worked under the recently departed Terry Neill and his first season in charge saw Spurs relegated from the first division.

Burkinshaw recovered from that setback to win promotion and become a very successful manager at White Hart Lane, winning two FA Cups and a UEFA Cup.
