He might not have been a popular signing, but William Gallas looks to have won over a lot of his critics and is set for a new contract. Gallas signed in the summer on a one year deal, with an option for an extension once he had played a certain amount of games.
With Spurs’ injury problems at the back, Gallas has featured more than anyone probably expected and he has turned in some solid performances, most notably in our 3-2 away win at Arsenal.
It looks as if we plan to keep the player at the club and a two year contract is apparently on the table. However, Gallas may be tempted by a lucrative move to the Middle East or the MLS.
The former Chelsea and Arsenal defender looks like playing a huge part in Spurs’ run in, but is a further two years too long, given his age?
If it would mean losing him otherwise, I would say yes he is worth the risk.
No, 2 years is fine. He is still fit an fast and reads the game brilliantly. I was against the idea in the beggining but credit where it is due Gallas has proved me very wrong!
Probably need him for another year, we don’t need another Nourredine Naybets-style one-season wonder. Central defence probably needs a major overhaul with Ledley, Woody and Gallas either old, fukt, or both.

Yes he is still worth a 2 yr contract.
He is a true professional with great vision and leadership qualities.
I believe he should be team captain when he plays
I’m expecting defensive reinforcements this summer, but he’s probably worth a short term contract.
