Spurs have announced their first set of 2011-12 pre season fixtures with confirmation of the club’s participation in the Vodacom Challenge which will be held in South Africa in July.
Defender Michael Dawson said on the club website: “Pre-season is an important time and preparation is key in order to start the season well. The Vodacom Challenge will be a good test for us. We have a strong relationship with South Africa and there is a real passion for football in the country.”
Spurs will take on Kaiser Chiefs on the 16th of July, followed by Orlando Pirates three days later. According to the website we will be in the 23rd of July final, irrespective of our results.
There seems to be no news of any live TV coverage as yet, but the tournament could be picked up and confirmation of that will follow.
Irrespective of our results we will be in the final. That is how we should be treated in all competitions!
I am a Spurs fan from SA and i can confirm that Vodacom (sponsors of the tourny) have stated that Spurs will be here for the Vodacom challenge. I for one cant wait to see the likes of Bale, Modders and VDV playing live. lets hope Arry gives em a run. I understand he wont want to risk any serious injuries but getting to see some of these guys play live for just 20 minutes would be good enough for me. The boys were here a couple years ago as well and its a great opportunity for us to at least get a glimpse of what some of you are priveleged enough to see week in, week out. I cant wait. Best of luck to the boys for the last few games of the season. Hopefully we could get that final CL spot again. Spurs fans in SA are right behind you. COYS!!!!!
Mos def I’M A SPURS fan too and even though I also am in ties with Kazier Chiefs I love Tott and cant wait for the arrival of Defoe,Modric etc Spurs for life…
