Gareth Bale has spoken out about his Spurs future but stopped short of categorically saying that he will be at White Hart Lane next season. In a week when more rumours surfaced, Gareth spoke in this month’s Hotspur magazine about the importance of confidence in his game.

Bale said: “I have not always been the most confident of people. I’m still the same now, too. I don’t think that I’m as good a player as people say I am. What keeps me working hard is the desire to become the player that others say I am.

”At Spurs, it has always been about the team, rather than individuals. We are a unit and that is where our strength lies.”

”Our fans are very important to me. They’ve always been great, chanting my name whenever I’m out there. It makes a great difference having them there.”

The headlines that have come from this story have declared it as a confirmation as to Bale’s immediate future. While it doesn’t really tell us much more then we already knew, there’s clearly a great affection for Tottenham and Spurs fans will be hoping that translates into the sight of Gareth lining up at the Lane again next season.

  1. This is the problem with football fans and the club are second in a footballers mind and badge kissers are the worse ones who leave for easy medals. If we lose Gareth it will be sad because we never achieved anything with his undoubted talent and if teams like Spurs sell there stars it will spoil the premiership if this happens because i think this team could be a great team with our new kids fitting in next year like Caulker Townsend Walker to name a few the thoughts of Townsend and Bale and Lennon and Walker is mouth watering and full of speed and promise and Caulker with Dawson also could be a great pairing One sad note i hope has a happy ending is Bostock comes through with Spurs and not like Taarabt another team
