Tottenham’s emerging youngsters will be given the chance to compete against the cream of Europe’s talent next season after the announcement of the NextGen series, a sort of mini Champions League for Under 19 teams which starts in August.

After Ajax completed the list of 16 sides, Spurs have been drawn in Group three with FC Basle, Inter Milan and PSV Eindhoven.

This looks to be a great opportunity for the club’s young players and a good chance for the management to really see what they are capable of. It’s not been possible to see what the implications are with loan moves but certainly you would feel that Spurs’ crop of under 19s would want to make this their priority.

Tottenham’s first fixture is away to Basle on the 17th of August with the first home match against Inter two weeks later. This promises to be an exciting tournament and one that we will follow very closely.
