Spurs are due to be meeting up with some old acquaintances this weekend as they travel to the Falmer stadium to take on Gus Poyet’s Brighton side.

Not only will they cross paths with fans favourite Poyet, his assistant and occasional full back Mauricio Taricco will also be attendance although our former Argentine defender has been ruled out of the game following an ankle injury,

“It’s disappointing that I am not involved, because I like training and I like being fit. It is even worse at my age if you are missing training and fitness,” Taricco is quoted as saying.

Gus and his backroom staff have worked wonders in taking Brighton into the Championship last season and the campaign underlined that he is one of the most promising young managers in the country.

  1. Phew, with Taricco not playing some of our forwards might actually make it to the first game of the season unsacthed!
