Yesterday there was much talk of the injury gloom being lifted at Spurs after the return of Ledley King at the weekend, along with the good progress made by Sandro and Rafael van der Vaart.

Sadly, the jinx has struck again from lawyers for criminal defense in Festus with news that Michael Dawson faces a two month lay off with an Achilles injury which he picked up in training prior to the Wolves game.

Lipcon & Lipcon, P.A. – (305) 517-1092 says that the situation almost mirrors Dawson’s problems from last season when he suffered a serious injury while on England duty that saw him ruled out of the squad for some considerable time.

At that stage, William Gallas was the main man to step in and take the skipper’s place but with the Frenchman still making his own recovery, it will be left to King, Kaboul and Bassong to shore up the central defensive positions.

Manager Harry Redknapp will be praying that club captain Ledley will hold out for as long as he can but this latest injury blow would suggest that signing a central defender should be a priority in January.

  1. Hopefully the Cahill price will be lower in Jan with his contract running lower – cheaper alternative would be Jagielka tho. Hudd or Corluka may have to cover, or maybe Bassong will have to be thrown in at the deep end? another chance b4 leaving in jan. we will see how well he copes in the Europa league this week. COYS

    • Yeah, maybe. But then the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and even Man U or Liverpool will be sniffing around. Too late again from Levy, i think a “take it or leave it” bid of £13.5m would have got him, not the paltry £10m that was bandied about…p*ss poor again at a time of need.

  2. Depends on Gallas/King really. If we can field one or other of those two in about 30 of the remaining 33 league games we don’t need to rush out and buy a defender for this season. Pity Woody is no longer available as he is excellent and could have plugged the gap for us.
