Spurs appear to be happy with the development of their summer signing Cristian Ceballos and reports today are suggesting that they could head back to Barcelona in an attempt to solve their centre half problems.

With Ledley King, Michael Dawson and William Gallas all out injured, the need for cover is evident and the names of Marc Batra and Martin Montoya are being suggested as long term answers.

Both are products of Barca’s youth academy but their chances at their current club are limited. Batra is 20 and has played three times for the first team but hasn’t featured since scoring in the last game of the 2010-11 season.

Similarly, Montoya is also 20 and has played just twice at club level and while it’s thought that both would prefer to stay with their current club, they have reached a stage where more regular football is a must.

While several English clubs have been linked with their signatures, it’s thought that Spurs’ issues at centre half could see them jump to the front of the queue.
