The main team news ahead of tonight’s clash with Rubin Kazan is the likely return to action of Aaron Lennon and Sandro. Danny Rose is another to make his long awaited return from injury and Harry Redknapp is pleased, if a little cautious, to welcome them all.

“Danny is fit and he’s fine now,” said Harry.

“We’ve players like him, Aaron Lennon is fit and if he can get through tomorrow he could feature on Sunday for us. Sandro could also be fit.

“The problem is that no-one is coming back in time for Sunday, so if we get a knock on Thursday, we’ll be in trouble. It’s a difficult one.”

So we can expect Cudicini in goal and Pav and Gio dos Santos up front but beyond that it gets a little tricky to call. Walker and Rose may well be the full back pairing and while Bassong should play at centre back, the main question is, who will line up alongside him?

With everyone else injured, Kaboul may have to play unless a makeshift centre-half is found from somewhere but who the contenders could be is anybody’s guess.

In midfield, Lennon, Livermore, Carroll and Townsend are possible starters but Sandro and even Steven Pienaar could feature from the kick off.

Here’s our team to face Rubin Kazan – what’s yours?

  1. No way will we risk both Kaboul and Bassong. kaboul will miss tonight and Livermore will play at CB.

So Cud, Walker, Livermore, Bassong, Rose. Lennon, Sandro, Carroll, Townsend. Gio, Pav.

  2. This is the team that should play, and corluka is not injured.
    WALKER CORLUKA SANDRO ROSE

    LENNON LIVERMORE NICO TOWNSEND

    KANE PAVLO
If not Sandro at back then Bassong, and Sandro in the middle and only play Livermore or Nico

  3. Why even bother with pav? Kane would be better.
I dont see the point in risking walker.
Im hoping to see fredericks play at rb and nicholson play in centre midfield with sandro.
