With no fresh injuries reported, it could well be an unchanged league side at Craven Cottage this weekend as Spurs make the short trip to Fulham.
William Gallas and Steven Pienaar both seem to have come through last night’s game in Kazan unscathed but may have to settle for a slot on the bench. Elsewhere, the other man pressing for a return to the starting XI is Sandro who will be putting pressure on Aaron Lennon in midfield.
So at the back, it should be Friedel in goal with Walker and BAE on the flanks. If Gallas is fit and available, he could put pressure on Kaboul but it’s hard to see Harry/Kevin/Joe changing the centre back pairing that has been at the heart of the Spurs revival.
In midfield, you can probably ink in Bale, Modric and Parker while it could be between Sandro and Lennon for the last place.
Up front, it looks certain to be goal machine VDV behind Adebayor.
Here’s our team to face Fulham, what’s yours?
Side picks itself at the present
If its not broke dont fix it
I agree not to change it but i can’t help feeling that leaving Sandro behind for the game with Kazan means he was being kept for this game because Fulham have good movement with players coming deep to get the ball like Dempsey,Duff,Zamora,Dembele with Johnson running the channels so i feel we will play a 4-2-3-1 with Parker and Sandro holding. Bale, VDV, Modric, and Ade interchanging, and to leave the defence the same.
I still have a concern about lennon at the mo, id say
friedel
walker kaboul king bae
modric parker vdv bale
ade defoe
good solid team
Phil…Modders on the right….have you been hiding in a cupboard for 2 years?…pick that side and i give Fulham a very good chance of getting a win….brain dead….and vdv central in a two man midfield in the prem and away from home…TELL me it was a joke?
Phil is your concern about Lennon that he set up two of our three goals last week? come on tell me it was a joke?
Agree with the team – just cant believe the comment about Pienaar getting a place on the bench – the worst player by a mile against Rubin and that’s saying something. Tough on Sandro particularly as Lennon is way off top form but I think he’ll be needed off the bench.
Gomes Walker King Kaboul Ekotto Lennon Vaan Modric Bale Defoe Ady second half 70 mins Galls for Ekotto Sandro Parker Modric Vaan. the seconfs half is where we are hanging on we should get the goals then consolidate. 4-1 too Spurs
Friedel, Walker, King, Kaboul, Benny……Sandro, Parker Modric….Bale, VDV….Adebayor
I have never seen so much drivel!! Friedel walker kaboom king benni Lennon Parker modric bale ade van der v, subs coming on after 65 sandro for Lennon defoe for van der v
Surely not phil?
I’d go for:
friedel
Walker Kaboul King BAE
Lennon Parker Modric Bale
Vdv
. Adebayor
I think where Fulham isnt good is in thier defence. If lennon can dribble thru 1 or 2 players and put some good balls in I guess we can bag a few goals at the cottage.
Sandro for Lennon late in the second half and Defoe for VDV.
3-1 to spurs.
Vdvx2 Ade 1
Johnson 1
FRIEDEL
WALKER KABOUL KING BENNY
SANDRO PARKER
VDV MODRIC BALE
ADE
Sandro needs game time and Parker will need his help vs Fulham midfield.. will cover vdv & kyle on right…Defoe to come off bench 2nd half if Ade remains goal-less
Walker–Kaboul–King–BAE
——–Sandro/Scott
Scott/Mod———–Bale
————VDV
—-Defoe——-Manu
4-1-2-1-2 bring it to them, JD and Manu making runs off of VDV would be interesting, with a dilemma of who to choose on RM and CDM..
or JPG466’s would be my second choice lineup, with Sandro and Parker indubitably dominating the middle, andi think Ade’s due in for some goals..
Like to see Sandro to give us that bite in midfield. Rate him highly, world class. Lennon did set up 2 goals but away form not the best. Defoe for Ade or VDV in 2nd half to get some goals
How about…
Friedel
Gallas King. Kaboul
Walker. Parker sandro Bale
Modric
Vdv
Ade
