Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has once again insisted that this will be a quiet month for Spurs and has warned fans not to expect any new arrivals this month.

Speaking to the Mirror over the weekend Harry said,

“It’s extremely unlikely we will be doing any business in this window.

“Unless someone very special came on the market, someone that could improve the team, I’ll stick with what I have.

“We have a very strong squad and cover for virtually every position. It’s hard to see where we can improve.”

Spurs fans wouldn’t necessarily argue that the first choice starting XI isn’t the best that we’ve had for some time but there may be an issue with regards to ‘cover’.

Injuries have taken their toll and with Scott Parker the latest to face a fitness battle, is there really enough depth in this squad to cement a top four position?

Harry always likes to deflect attention away from the club at this time of year and in particular, he doesn’t like the speculation over his own players. So can we take this at face value or do we desperately need some fresh faces at the Lane?

  1. A right midfield cover for Lennon ( Marko Marin )
A striker replacement for Pav ( Papiss Demba Cisse )

that would do me dont think we need a CB with Dawson back

  2. By and large, I think he is not bluffing. Anyone we bring in needs to better than what we have, and we also need to sell, so that they can fit into the squad. It would be great to have a good backup winger, and a striker to to replace Pav. Can we find someone good enough though?

  3. Cavani – No chance, IF he was availible then someone like City, Real etc would snap him up, He would cost in exses of £40m plus £100k plus weekly wages. And there is noway Napoli would sell him in Jan

Shaquiri – Where would he fit in? As good as he is, is he any better than VDV, Modric, or Bale, Wouldn’t come to sit on the bench and Basel are in the last 16 of the CL.

Only players i can see coming in is Maybe Samba and in return we would get rid of Bassong.

Would love another striker at the club though

  4. Eriksen (cover all across the front) and Vertonghen as a pair from Ajax, I’m less sure of who I’d like (that’s realistic) up front, although that’s needed as well.
Damiao would be great but I’m not going to hold my breath.
