Tottenham’s Scott Parker took part in England’s first training session under Roy Hodgson although it seems that the injury doubt hanging over the midfielder has yet to go away. Scott was named in Roy Hodgson’s squad for Euro 2012 despite an Achilles problem that had kept him out of the Spurs squad at the end of the season and he now has to prove his fitness to the new boss.

Last week, the new England manager had this to say about the situation.

“Scott’s had an injection which will probably take a week for us to see if it’s been successful or not,” Hodgson said.

“He could still miss out, although from what I’m hearing, it won’t be a problem. He’s very confident.”

Hodgson has until May 29th to make a final decision on Parker but for the moment, all the signs seem to be positive ones.

  1. He deserves his place there.. He’s put his body on the line many a time this year. May also be his last opportunity for a major international championship. Shame about Walker, he deserved to go to, but at least he’ll have time to recover for next year.
