One of the players mentioned as Luka Modric’s replacement is Joao Moutinho. The Porto midfielder was one of the stars of Euro 2012 and is well known to AVB. As such, it’s an obvious choice for the rumour mills to link the player with a move to the Lane.
Moutinho has spoken of the prospect but was giving very little away.
“I will continue to work. If an offer arrives, and it is good for both parties, Porto will, of course, study it,” he told the press in Portugal.
“I do not know if there is the possibility of joining Tottenham. Every player has the ambition to try new leagues, but I am at Porto and I will continue to work in the same way.”
Figures in excess of £30m have been quoted for Moutinho and while these may have been inflated, it seems likely that if this is AVB’s main target, there will be little change, if any, from the fee received for Luka.
no way in hell levy is paying above 20mill£!! should think that spurs would have money, but guess spurs dont. best thing is to do as arse, they bought in players, and THEN sold RVP. we know we get money in for modders, so we can strike deals before he goes, and pay when he goes. this modric saga has gone on all window, levy need somebody to buy players and sell, because levy juses to long time.
Pls spurs go for hanandez after rvp was arrive as a new man united playert
i think that joe moutnhio is a good player to replace modric , but i prefer Ramirez. In other he costs less than Moutinho
