Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is rumoured to be leaving on his jet plane again as he looks to go back in for Portuguese midfielder Joao Moutinho. The deadline day deal for the Porto player ultimately failed for conflicting reasons but it may seem as if the 25 year old remains the priority target.
Following the transfer collapse, it had been rumoured that interest from Russia would follow as the window remained open in other parts of Europe. However, this may well have been mere paper talk following the stellar transfer of Moutinho’s team mate Hulk to Zenit St Petersburg.
The key to the January transfer could be Levy’s visit where he is reported to be offering extra money on top of the £25m fee if Porto grant an exclusivity contract. That would give Tottenham first option on a player who they seem determined to bring to White Hart Lane.
hey little hen when when when
Raising hopes for fans ,only to disappoint us.Business as usual from Levy.
make it happen levy!
and we also want damiao
So pleased Moutinho didn’t go to Zenit, suppose it was just Porto and the third party trying to get the most money…no good if Joao didn’t want to go though. Seems like everything had been agreed with Damiao and us too which is encouraging.
MOUNTINHO—DAMIAO—NANI—MVILLA
Wham bam thank you ma’am.
get a hold of yourself…
Isn’t the third party.ownership, what caused all the trouble with the transfer of tevez to wham? And the subsequent £20m that Sheff Utd won in court. If so you can see the problem this caused Levy.
the deal is already done already with the brazilian boy just might be a bit late in jan but take it from me the deals are done !!!
I want to believe you, but do you have any actual evidence? Or are you just hoping?
If we bring in Mouthinho AND Damiao in Jan, and let them bed in like United did years ago with evra, and Vidic, then we can really fly next season.
Won’t believe anything till i see it though, after supporting Spurs since 1984, you kind of get used to the hopes being high, but hopes being fulfilled very rarely!!
That’s funny because the fee agreed was less than £25 million and it stalled over terms for the third party image rights.
We would need to be doing well come Jan to stand a chance of making this transfer happen…..
Other affordable options – Clasie, Benat, Ganso (maybe), Dzagoev (maybe not), Biton (after a few years though), Medo (???)
Obviously AVB loves Moutinho, but hopefully he won’t be close-minded about this, as it is paramount to have that ‘metronome’ who loves dictating the tempo and getting on the ball all over the field. Of all of them I think Clasie would do the best job. Both his performances for Holland have been better than solid, and Feyenoord fans love him…they call him the ‘Dutch Xavi’…
