During the international break, Clint Dempsey has been reflecting on the start of his Tottenham career and while the American is pleased with his performances so far, he hinted that he might be looking to score more goals.

“I feel like I am settling in,” Dempsey said. “I have been trying to hit the ground running.

“I’ve played in seven games, got six starts and have a goal and an assist in the league. I would like to have better numbers but at the same time I am playing consistently at a good level and it is about getting more goals, more assists as that makes me contribute more.”

While he has rarely been used as an out and out striker, Clint has a decent goals to game ration but more strikes in a Lilywhite shirt will always be welcome. For now however, the player is just looking forward to Saturday’s visit of Chelsea.

“It is going to be an important game as the table is so tight,” he added. “You have to take care of your home games, we want to keep going on this run and getting positive results. We don’t want it to stop. We know it is going to be a tough test, but we are excited about it.
