There’s no real team news coming out of White Hart Lane just yet so we assume that there are no new injury concerns following Thursday night’s game in Rome. One enforced change from last Saturday will come as Emmanuel Adebayor starts his three match ban but will AVB look to keep a more attacking formation?

4-4-2 does seem to be out of the question with no credible candidate to take Ade’s place. Clint Dempsey could fill in and the club could promote someone like Jon Obika but it’s more likely that Jermain Defoe will be on his own up front.

At the back, the question remains over Lloris or Friedel and while logic might suggest that Hugo will start after his performance on Thursday, no-one would be surprised to see Brad between the posts.

The back four will probably pick itself while Tom Carroll may just fill in on the left centre after his performance in Rome. Reports suggest that Dembele isn’t ready so Carroll may be in a three way fight with Huddlestone and Sigurdsson this weekend.

Here’s one option for AVB but what’s your view?

  1. Sigurdsson is not a CM, he was dreadful there against Wigan and if Dembele is out, I’d play this:

    Lloris
    Walker Dawson Gallas Vertonghen
    Sandro Carroll Huddlestone
    Lennon Defoe Bale

  2. Need to put as much height in against this lot, as they will bombard us with long, high balls with Nolan and Noble picking up the knock downs. Carroll’s too light weight for this, as is Siguardsson in at CM. I would play Dawson instead on Gallas and if no Dembele, play Plodermore.

  3. Please people. Can’t you see that galas is the problems in our defense. Three times against arsenal he lost his man. He is finished and terrible.

Lloris, walker, vertongen, caulker, naughton, bale, Sandro, dembele, Lennon, ade and Defoe. Dempsey and sigurdsson we should sell. They haven’t done anything……..

  4. I`d play dawson and caulker to deal with the hoof up to carroll. watched their game vs stoke on monday and 90% of the time thats what they look for.

  5. This kid coulibaly would have got a game at man u or arse by now but don’t know if he is in the 25? I would play him ,raw class no fear. But then we dont play kids until they are
Already dissolutioned. Think we have been a little unlucky but that don’t go down in the result books. Seen tackles worse than Addys get a yellow but the arse player was well rehearsed and Bale would have done a much better rollover.

  6. Lloris – Hugo has looked excellent in the last two games and I think that another good performance could really boost his confidence.
Walker,Dawson,Caulker,Vertoghen -West Ham are a very physical side and Dawson will be key against them. Otherwise the same back 4 as usual as they all look valid.
Lennon,Sandro,Dembele,Bale – For me Dembele is our most important player(form will show this) and he will add some bite and creativity to the midfield. Bale and Lennon are wingers not CAM’S and Sandro has been brilliant lately.
Dempsey,Defoe – We need two up front and although Dempsey hasn’t done much for us, his aerial ability wil be key against West Ham. We could start
    Siggy

    • To be fair to Siggy, the games he has started in his natural CAM(Reading and Newcastle) he has looked good.bSiggy would be my preferred choice just behind JD but we need some height and Dempsey could prove himself tomorrow. Also give Coulibaly a chance along with Pritchard and Coulthihurst. COYS.

  7. I expect a creeked neck Monday morning with spammers in town, so as much height as possible at back Dawson for gallas & caulker lb please. The good news is Avb could probably play cm against spam( back 2 front 2 wing 2 front) so I’d go 4-4-2 lloris walker Dawson verthongen Caulker midfield of lennon sandro Carroll Bale, upfront Defoe & Dembele.
I’ve a gut feeling Huddlestone will come off the bench & score but have to admit I’m not that confident of a win especially if defoe is uptop on his own, needs someone to play off & not dempsey hopefully.
