The last few years have seen a string of problems between the posts at White Hart Lane and can probably be traced back to the point when Paul Robinson fell out of form and favour under Juande Ramos. From there, Robinson was replaced by Heurelho Gomes who has many fans at the club despite a constant stream of costly errors between the sticks.
Brad Friedel arrived in June 2011 and brought stability to the Lane once again but the subsequent arrival of Hugo Lloris led to further uncertainty. Now, with Hugo installed as number one, Brad’s new contract seems to have made the top two slots secure moving ahead.
Many had expected Brad to return to former club Blackburn but his new contract until June 2014 was announced by the club on Boxing Day.
However, not everyone saw this as positive as our old friends at Metro lead with a headline stating that the move casts doubt on Lloris’ future.
Back in the real world, do you agree that it’s a good move? With a good young keeper coming through we could tie up a club dynasty for the foreseeable with Hugo and Brad at the front of the queue – in that order…
