Tottenham’s Andros Townsend has impressed at times while on loan to QPR but the left winger captured plenty of headlines with his stunning late winner against Sunderland on Saturday. Andros has been speaking about Rangers’ chances of survival but he is also keen to make sure that Spurs are aware of his contributions.

“Obviously I have belief in my own ability but this is my chance now to show people at Spurs, here and around the Premier League that I am good enough,” Townsend is quoted as saying in the Fulham Chronicle.

“Hopefully I can take the opportunities when they come and show people what I can do.”

Andros also confirmed that his parent club are keeping firm tabs on his development.

“I’ve spoken to Tim Sherwood a few times and Les Ferdinand has been down to a few games. They’re keeping tabs on me and hopefully they are pleased with what they see,” he added.

Andros Townsend is far from a ready made replacement for Gareth Bale, should the Welshman ever decide to take the offers from abroad but could there be a regular space for the 21 year old at White Hart Lane next season?

  1. I think we could have done with him against Liverpool to replace Aaron Lennon. The problem is that there aren’t any ‘easy’ games for the likes of him and Carroll to get game time. Hopefully, he can get a good run pre-season and build on his success at QPR
