Our 18 year old Ivorian striker continues to develop his game and at present, Souleymane Coulibaly is half way through a loan deal that sees him at Serie B side Grosseto until the end of this campaign.
The forward has received some praise from the officials at his loan club but as yet, Coulibaly hasn’t been given much of a chance to impress in the Italian second tier. At the time of writing, the player has made just four appearances and has yet to get on the scoresheet.
In the meantime, Souleymane has revealed that his thoughts are never too far away from his future at White Hart Lane.
“I am working hard and having to learn the hard way,” Coulibaly said.
“I want to make my name at Spurs next season or in the future, but I have to bide my time because there are some top players in the Premier League in my position.
“Coming here has taught me a lot and hopefully the experience will serve me well in the future.”
If Souleymane is to make a name next year then perhaps it’s time to give the striker a start in a Capital One game. For now, it seems unlikely that he’s quite ready to claim a regular place in the first team squad.
Frankly I’d have had him here for the rest of this season and then let him go out on loan next season. He cannot be any worse than the absolute shower of festering, corrosive shit we have pretending to be strikers at the club at the moment. If he hasn’t scored a goal this year then that is already as good as Defoe and Adebayor.
I’ve watched him in the NexGen this season. Very impressed with his snapshot shooting BUT he was too short to have any effect on the game – couldn’t ‘compete’ with his marker.
He may be good enough but it’s wishful thinking to hope for a first team spot until he grows.
Forget Coulibaly lets get Pablo Osvaldo & Gonzalo Higuain and also if we cant get any of these two we could try for Roberto Soldado or Alvaro Negrado . Each of these players are worth around £20 Million each so Spending £40 Million to get two prolific experienced strikers is very good business im sure we would be playing in europe year after year if we had two of these strikers. What a DREAM ….
