Spurs have been linked with two strikers from either side of Rome in the last couple of days and while both men have appeared in transfer rumours before, one is a far more attractive prospect than the other.
The first is Pablo Osvaldo who, it is claimed, will be allowed to leave Roma this summer after two years in Serie A. Osvaldo is 27 and averages more than a goal every other game in Italy but it’s thought that his poor relationship with the club’s fans will see him leave in the next window.
Spurs have been linked to the striker but so too have Anzhi Makhachkala and Russian millions usually mean that the deal will only go one way.
Meanwhile, the name of Mauro Zarate has appeared again, with Lazio set to let him leave after four disappointing years with the club. Zarate plays as a winger or a second striker so it’s maybe not fair to compare him with Osvaldo but a return of 12 league goals in 67 Lazio appearances suggest that he wouldn’t be quite so welcome at the Lane.

We NEED three players, possible four but three is vital if we want to maintain top 4 and potential win the title. We need a new LB. That seems to be what AVB wants as well with constantly leaving BAE out. I personally want Luke Shaw. Then we need two strikers. This is the most important thing. I want Benteke. We also have Couliaby and Cellebos in the reserves. We could potentially put them forward, but are they ready for the first team? Probably not. Another striker for the time being until we can push them two forward. Finally, I believe we need two more players to be title contenders. A young goalkeeper and a creative midfielder. Moutinho would had been the idle player, but if we get top 4, then Eriksen from Ajax would be amazing. For the keeper, perhaps Paulo Gazzaniga from the Saints. We get all these players, then we will win the title next season.
Think its time to forget Leandro once and for all – he’s not coming so get over it. Over-rated in my opinion following easy opposition in the olympics, he looked very ordinary in the final against a decent team, not sure he’d shine in the EPL.
Benteke is EPL savvy and would be a great addition, right age and hungry, if villa go down the swanny then he might well fancy the switch. Come to think of it he might fancy the switch if villa stay up – us or villa = a no brainer!!
I’ve always said,when we buy quality unknown players and make them stars we lose them to greedy money spending clubs.(Man united,Real Madrid ect.)
Here’s a few players i feel we should look at: Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Eder, Graziano Pelle’ ,Pablo Osvaldo, Wilfried Bony, Benteke, Heung-min Son, Samuel Umtiti, Dennis Aogo, & Marcel Schmelzer
I feel if we can get some of these players we will definitely be able to compete with these big money spending greedy clubs.
