There have been a number of stories linking Scott Parker with a move away from Spurs but could the England international really be lining up in a Fiorentina shirt next season? That’s the claim this morning as the Serie A side look for reinforcements ahead of the new season.
The Italian club are set to lose David Pizarro who recently announced that he was looking for a move after the side’s fourth placed finish saw them miss out on Champions League football. His likely absence leaves Fiorentina looking for an experienced replacement and the Italian Press are claiming that manager Vincenzo Montella has identified Scott as his number one target.
With a fee mentioned in the region of £6m, the deal would appease those who think Parker is past it at 32 but would it suit the player in terms of his England ambitions? A desire to make the World Cup Squad for 2014 – if England get there – is likely to be his main priority but would he fall outside of Roy’s Radar in Serie A?
